Financial aid

Two types of financial aid are available through Cornell: merit-based and need-based.

Merit-based aid includes tuition fellowships and part-time assistantships. Merit-based aid is awarded through the College of Engineering.

Need-based aid is comprised of various loan programs (only U.S. citizens or permanent residents qualify for loans), and is handled through the Graduate School's Financial Aid Support. Most students obtain funding from a variety of sources; typically a combination of loans, assistantships, fellowships, and grants.

In order to be considered for merit-based financial aid from the College of Engineering, your application must be received by February 1.
