Alum’s startup has roots in systems engineering

Nirav PatelA few years after earning his master’s degree from Cornell, Nirav Patel M.Eng. ’12 realized there was a need and, like all good systems engineers, sought to fulfill that need.

“I started a venture of my own approximately three years ago. We design and manufacture equipment that is used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetic production,” said Patel, director of engineering and operations for Accunova Engineering Pvt. Ltd.  “I manage overall company operations such as sales, manufacturing, design, purchasing, installations and commissioning.”

Accunova manufactures machinery for packaging, labeling and bundling for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and consumer goods industries in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

“Our products are designed by a world-class engineering team,” Patel said. “We also provide customized solutions as per the client requirement.”

Patel and a team of engineers with in-depth experience in automated production equipment design, mechanical, electronics and software engineering, sales and marketing and business management. Our diverse team strives to bring the latest technological solutions for automated filling and packaging equipment at a competitive cost.

Prior to coming to Cornell to study systems engineering, Patel earned his B.Tech. in electronics and communications from Nirma University. He held several positions with Lutron Electronics in Coopersburg, PA before returning to India to found Accunova.
