Biography

David has worked the last 18 years in various engineering and quantitative roles in finance. He currently leads a software engineering group at AQR Capital. Prior to this role he was CTO at Autonomy Capital and held various roles in the quantitative finance industry since joining Merrill Lynch in 2004. David started his career at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory working in bioinformatics.

Research Interests

David’s research interests include the design and implementation of software systems, and applications of machine learning techniques and natural language processing to business decisions.

Teaching Interests

David teaches the Systems Software Engineering course in the Systems Engineering Program at Cornell University. He also teaches Natural Language Processing in the Master of Financial Engineering program at Baruch College, CUNY. Prior to this, David has taught classes in C++ and Python.
