INCOSE Finger Lakes Chapter annual dinner meeting September 7

  • 2019 INCOSE Finger Lakes Chapter Annual Dinner Meeting (Saturday, September 7) at Cornell’s Statler Hotel
    • Students – Monetary grants will be raffled off at the event (must be present at the event to win), but we need to know how many students are attending – so it important to get you names in quickly to rzinni@gmail.com – students are welcome from all colleges, but registration will be on a first-come/first-served basis, as seating is limited.
       
    • Main Topic: NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Wide-Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) projects
       
    • Guest Speaker Bio: Tony Whitman
      Tony Whitman is currently the chief systems engineer for the telescope element of NASA’s Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope at L3Harris in Rochester, NY.  Tony came to L3Harris (formerly a division of Kodak) in 2002 as the lead systems engineer for the integration and test equipment for NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope from the Rochester Photonics Corporation to later become the optical test director for the cryogenic optical test of JWST.  Earlier in his career, Tony was part of the optical metrology team for the Cosmic Background Explorer at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  Other career stops included the former Holotek Ltd. of Rochester and the former General Electric Electronics Laboratory in Syracuse.  He earned his M.S. Optics degree from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Applied and Engineering Physics at Cornell University in 1985.

    • This year’s meeting will be at The Statler Hotel on Cornell University Campus, 130 Statler Drive at Cornell University, Ithaca NY 14853-6901 (phone 607-257-2500) – The Taylor Room (located on the second floor; go through the restaurant to gain access). Here is the menu – please choose an entrée option number and communicate if there are any allergens or dietary restrictions with the RSVP – Final entrée choices (in case there is a need for a change) need to be communicated to rzinni@gmail.com by Monday the week of the event, (Sept. 2). So, you don’t have to make the final choice with your RSVP.

  2. Grilled 10 oz. NY Strip in Green Peppercorn Brandy Sauce     
  3. Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Maple and Soy Glaze
  4. Mushroom & Risotto Cake, Fire Roasted Shiitake & Asparagus, Tomato Coulis

    • Day of: Please arrive on campus in time to allow for parking, walk to the venue and finding your seat between 5:20 p.m and 5:30 p.m. (event begins at 5:30).  Dinner is served between 6:00 p.m.  Guest speaker presentation will begin following dinner.
