Graduate Admissions
Admission to graduate programs at Cornell University is coordinated through the Cornell University Graduate School. The Master of Engineering Program is coordinated through the Office of Research and Graduate Studies in Cornell's College of Engineering.
Financial Aid, Deadline for Applications
Two types of financial aid are available through Cornell: merit-based and need-based. Merit-based aid includes tuition fellowships and part-time assistantships. Merit-based aid is awarded through the College of Engineering. Need-based aid is comprised of various loan programs (only U.S. citizens or permanent residents qualify for loans), and is handled through the Graduate School's Fellowship and Financial Aid Office. Most students obtain funding from a variety of sources; typically a combination of loans, assistantships, fellowships, and grants.
Application Deadline for Fall admission and Financial Aid is Februray 1st of that year.
Application Deadline for Spring admission is September 15th of the previous year.
The Graduate School provides an extensive application and admissions Web page with general application guidelines and requirements for each graduate field where you will find the requirements of the specific field to which you are applying. Applications can be downloaded or completed online.
